The expatriation life is as succession of transitions. They impact us internally, externally, physically and mentally. Every transition breaks our rectilinearity. They always occur with every relocation, but not only.

If you think about it, they are invitations to explore our surroundings and ourselves. It is an opportunity to redefine our goals and aspirations, take an inventory of the resources we have accumulated over the years, and activate them.

While we can´t predict the impact that a transition will have in our lives, our attitude and disposition are key to getting the most out of each one.

Areas frequently impacted by our transitions are:

  • Identity: we stop noticing our individuality and get submerged in our role.
  • Clarity of objectives: we lose sight of our aspirations, goals, dreams, or we do not update them.
  • Self-esteem: we do not recognize our own resources accumulated through experience, and don´t use them to their full potential.
  • Fear and retroversion: wear and tear stops us from taking on new challenges, expand our limits.
